Training Programmes for Office Attendants
The Ministry of Civil Service Affairs and Administrative Reforms, in collaboration with the Hotel School of Mauritius, has organised the following training programmes for a first batch of 68 Office Attendants at the Hotel School, Ebène from 30 September to 4 October, 2002:
(i) a two-day programme on welcoming Guests/Reception and Deportment/Grooming.
(ii) a one-day programme on Tea/Coffee service.
The training programme is in line with the strategic objectives highlighted in the Ministry’s Action Plan 2001-2003 “Towards the Modernisation of the Public Service” which focus on the development of a customer-oriented approach to provide cost-effective and timely services to the public.
The objectives of the programme were to provide adequate training to the Office Attendants to:
  • enhance their personal effectiveness in the discharge of their duties and functions;
  • groom them in reception duties, good stewardship and customer care; and
  • improve their abilities and skills in tea/coffee service
