Training Programme for Registry Staff
A few Ministries/Departments requested the Ministry of Civil Service Affairs and Administrative Reforms to mount training programmes for their registry staff. Subsequently, a letter was issued to all heads of Ministries/Departments inviting them to specify the problems encountered in their respective Registry.
In the light of the feedback obtained, a training programme was mounted and held at the Mauritius Institute of Education (MIE), Reduit on 01 and 02 August, 2002 with an initial batch of 45 participants. A second batch of 30 participants attended the programme on 27 and 28 August, 2002 at the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate. The following subjects/modules were covered:
bullet Roles and Functions of Registry within the Management Information System
bullet Registry of Management and Supervision
bullet Impact of Information Technology on the Management of Registry
bullet Registry Procedures and Practices
bullet Security/Safekeeping of Official documents
bullet Ethics in the Civil Service
The objectives of the training programme were to provide Registry Staff with the knowledge and principles required for the successful execution of their tasks and to help them adopt an efficient and effective approach to Registry Management.
